How Many Dot Variations Does Your Gmail Have?
For a username with N characters, there are N-1 positions where a dot can be inserted. Each position can either have a dot or not, giving you 2^(N-1) total variations. A 9-character username yields 256 variations. A 12-character username yields 2,048.
